Support to Afghanistan Sustainable Energy for Rural Development and Climate Change Adaptation Project

The overall purpose of this initiative is to develop a proposal to mobilize funds from Green Climate Fund (GCF) for climate change resilience, following a feasibility study identifying potential areas for renewable energy generation as one of the top requirement; identifying economic development options that can be linked in provision of affordable energy; identifying climate change adaptation elements and mobilize local community support soliciting their ideas to be incorporated and envisaged in the proposal. The services provided by ITPI were to develop proposal supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation in the context of Afghanistan Sustainable Energy for Rural Development and Climate Change Adaptation programme which included preparatory work, stakeholders’ consultations, drafting of proposal, finalization of the proposal etc. The services also included leading the feasibility study team, making feasibility reports in target areas, and developing other supporting documents required for the funding proposal.
