Wind and Solar Development Program – Feasibility Study for Portmore, Jamaica

The objective of the project was to conduct a feasibility study for a proposed residential power generation facility for the residential community of Portmore, Jamaica. The overall objective of this program component was to reduce energy consumption in the Jamaican residential sector via the integration of renewable energy technology. ITPI tasks included site assessment and solar resource assessment, analysis of energy demand of local community, technology review, power plant performance simulation, selection of suitable technology, plant layout and technical specification, civil and structural requirement for the project, power system and grid interface, statutory requirements & compliances, project implementation schedule, economic assessment, and risk analysis.
