The overall objective of the project was to provide support to Distribution Utilities (DU) / State Nodal Agencies (SNAs) for DPR preparation for SWH projects under JNNSM; enhance their capacity for DPR preparation and development of project proposals; and to provide support during the approval process and until start-up of projects; develop knowledge management documents to train the utilities/ SNA to replicate the exercise for continuing implementation of similar projects. As a part of this study, ITPI identified the SNAs and DUs in consultation with MNRE for providing support. Reports were prepared on the basis of an extensive research on solar water heating systems/ technology, international standards, status/volume and regulatory environment of Renewable Energy Technologies in India supplemented by interviews with stakeholders in the sector.
