IT Power India organized ‘Workshop on Offshore Wind Developments in India: Potential and Prospects’ that brought together key stakeholders in this sector to discuss the prospects of offshore wind energy in India. The Workshop focused on the global scenario and challenges in its development in India with regard to the technology, financing and regulatory mechanisms.

Presentation by Dr. Keith Lovegrove, “Solar Energy Investment & Technology Forum”, 9th April, 2013, Coimbatore

Solar Energy Investment & Technology Forum, a conference supported by Australian Trade Commission was organized by UBM India on 9th April, 2013 in Coimbatore.

The forum focused on the implications of “Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Policy 2012” and the most cost effective way to abide by it.

Dr. Keith Lovegrove, Head – Solar Thermal, IT Power Group made a presentation on “Solar and Clean Energy Revolution”. He introduced an innovative concept of utilizing the excess land available in existing wind farms for the creation of solar parks. He mentioned about Tamil Nadu’s wind and solar energy potential and the need for combining solar and wind farms in his interviews to The Hindu and Deccan Chronicle on the eve of the conference.

IT Power Prepares DPRs to Scale-Up Electricity Access in Rural Areas of West Bengal, India

India’s electrification efforts over the past decades have resulted in electrification of more than 90 percent of Indian villages. Yet only 55 percent of rural households have access to electricity. Also despite the adoption of an expanded definition of electrification in 2005, electrified villages reported problems in terms of the number of  hours that electricity is supplied every day, the amount of power made available, the end uses that can be supported. Concentrated Solar Power: Coming Out of the Shadows – A Lecture by Dr. Keith Lovegrove, 4th April 2013, New Delhi

Eminent personalities from various organizations were present to attend the lecture on “Concentrated Solar Power: Coming out of the shadows” by Dr. Keith Lovegrove, Head – Solar Thermal, IT Power Australia, on the 4th of April 2013. Australian High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Patrick Suckling spoke about the bilateral ties existing between India and Australia and the importance of Renewable Energy in today’s scenario. Dr. Lovegrove’s presentation focused on the global CSP scenario, India’s position in global stage in CSP, progress made by CSP projects awarded under Phase 1 of JNNSM and the future of CSP in India. Mr. Tarun Kapoor, Joint Secretary, MNRE spoke about the success of JNNSM and various other policies of the Ministry.

Dr. Keith Lovegrove, IT Power Concentrated Solar Power Specialist
Dr Lovegrove has 24 years of experience in Solar Thermal Energy research. During his time as leader of the Solar Thermal Group at the Australian National University, he was the lead inventor and design and construction team leader of the 500m2 (world’s largest) Generation II Big Dish solar concentrator.
Dr Lovegrove edited the recently published book “Concentrating Solar Power Technology: Principles Developments” and in 2011, he was lead author of the Report commissioned by the Australian Government on “Concentrating Solar Power in India”.
